Position Overview

            Bellevue University, the largest, private, non-profit and fastest growing institute of higher education in Nebraska has an immediate opening for a Next Degree Navigator who acts in the capacity of Student Outreach and Recruiter at our partner school of South Texas College in McAllen, Texas.  This individual will need to be caring and enjoy guiding students as their “next-degree” navigator through the completion of their degree at South Texas College to a degree with Bellevue University.  Responsible for building connections across the campus, the best candidate will thrive exploring and developing outreach and marketing opportunities.  

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive and unique annual strategic business plan customized to the particular needs of the students, faculty and staff of the partnership location.
  • Develops/delivers presentations to students, faculty and staff in a professional and effective manner.
  • Uses proven student centric communication and servicing techniques that aids the student in completion of enrollment process for University programs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible recruiting or sales experience, preferably in an educational field environment.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable under BU’s insurance policy.
  • Demonstrated strengths in customer service, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution and organizational skills. 
  • Effective professional presentation skills.
  • Must be goal oriented and results driven.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly; listen and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding student files and information.
  • Ability to work independently and exhibit an entrepreneurial approach in your setting.
  • Available to work flexible hours to-occasionally-include, evening and some weekends, as required. 
  • Flexibility to travel to other locations as needed and to BU main campus for training.
