Associate Registrar (Transfer Articulation and Technology)

Job Summary:

The Associate Registrar for Transfer Articulation and Technology provides leadership and management of the transfer and test credit evaluation team, directs the process of transfer course evaluation and approval, collaborates with academic units, and provides guidance and structure to all aspects of the transfer ad test credit processes. This position will assess, devise and implement systems and technology for transfer evaluations so that the office is strategically managing the transfer process and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee application of existing systems for approval, evaluation, and posting of credit. Identify the need for new technology, policies, and processes and manage the roll-out of process changes.
  • Research and develop strategic recommendations related to enhancements of transfer processes, policies, and systems, keeping abreast of industry best practices.
  • Create, interpret, implement, and enforce student centered transfer policies. Provide leadership and maintain current knowledge of university academic requirements for areas of responsibility.
  • Formulate business practices in consultation with the University Registrar.
  • Provide a high degree of judgement, accuracy, and accountability in supporting institutional and department policies and goals.
  • Supervises support staff for transcript review, interpretation, and posting of credit to student records.
  • Supervise support staff in review of course evaluations, updating course/articulation equivalencies, and maintenance of TCCNS and transfer guides.
  • Oversee maintenance of Registrar Office transfer and test credit-related web pages that provide information for students and academic units, including but not limited to the Course Equivalency tool, faculty review resources, published forms and process.
  • Provide oversight support and resolutions to matters related to customer service for the transfer articulation unit.
  • Lead ongoing audits of course evaluation workflows and create queries for tracking and reporting.
  • Manage complex work situations and implement responses based on interpretation of regulations and standards, in collaboration with the Registrar as needed or required.
  • Serve on committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Actively participate in the design, implementation, and development of technology related applications that enhance services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Records and Registration or in areas closely relevant to the Registrar’s office.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience.
  • Experience with utilization of ERP/SIS systems.
  • Understanding of the data and document management in decision making analysis.
    • A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience leading projects to completion.
  • Prior work with transfer students or transfer credit evaluation and articulation.

  • Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills and abilities needed to keep abreast of best practices, trends, regulation and policy changes; willingness to learn emerging technologies and to develop new skills.
