Purpose
The Associate Academic Advisor provides holistic academic advising and student support for undergraduate students pursuing one or more Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs). The advisor assists students from application through certificate completion by providing guidance on curriculum planning, Connecting Experiences (CEs), degree progress, registration, university policies, and academic success strategies.
The position also contributes to student engagement, recruitment, programming, outreach, and operational support for BDP initiatives while collaborating with faculty, colleges, and campus partners.

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience advising students in higher education or providing student services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working collaboratively with diverse populations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, or related field.
Experience advising undergraduate students.
Knowledge of UT Austin academic policies and procedures.
Experience using university student information systems.
Experience planning student programs or events.
Experience reviewing academic records or degree audits.
Experience working with interdisciplinary academic programs.
$49,800 + depending on qualifications
Work to be performed in standard office environment
